To use letsencrypt follow these steps:

git clone https://github.com/letsencrypt/letsencrypt
cd letsencrypt
sudo ./letsencrypt-auto certonly --standalone --email youremail@somewhere.com -d yourserver.com

And then replace the NGINX file in ../install with the following:
